Annually, the conference hosts 2,000 attendees including mayors, council members, city attorneys, city managers, city clerks, municipal assistants, public works officers, planners and planning commissioners, fiscal officers and staff related to many critical city departments (fire, police, parks and recreation, community services and personnel).  There is also an exhibition that showcases over 250 vendors.
The 2010 conference theme is “Rebuilding California From The Ground Up” and will be held at the San Diego Convention Center, September 15 - 17, 2010.  Submissions from any individual, group, business or organization on any topic are welcome.  The Annual Conference Program Planning Advisory Committee will consider the educational value of each proposal and the extent to which it presents new and/or significant information.
The Annual Conference Program Planning Advisory Committee will review all ideas fully completed and received on or before Thursday, January 7, 2010, at noon.  Only electronic ideas will be accepted (no fax or mailed submissions).
Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Who May Propose?
A: Both members and non-members may submit proposals. Please read instructions carefully, and review the registration policy to determine your eligibility.

Q: Do I have to register for the conference to participate as a speaker?
A: Yes. All speakers must be registered for the conference. Click here to read the speaker registration policy and learn about registration options.

Q: I would like to submit a research paper, where should I do that?
A: We don't have a specific area to submit research papers. Please consider using your paper as a catalyst for a session.

Q: I don't know who my speakers will be yet. What should I enter in the proposal form?
A: You don't have to have all of your speakers confirmed yet. Entering speaker names in the proposal form gives reviewers a good idea of the positions/locations of speakers you are planning to invite. You will need to officially invite any speakers from an accepted proposal later in the process. Proposers are strongly encouraged to list proposed speakers.

Q: Does my session have to fit in a track?
A: No. Sessions are accepted on the full spectrum of topics.
